Rock Hill Urban Development News - August 2023 Edition
A round up of new project and land acquisition announcements this month.
More than 3,700 square feet of commercial space at 249 Harwich St. in Rock Hill sold July 14 for $2.5 million. Belton of Charlotte, out of Waxhaw, bought the Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers restaurant site just off Cherry Road.
Mint Hill Capital bought two properties at 528 S. Cherry Road in Rock Hill on July 25 for more than $1.9 million. One includes a more than 18,000-square-foot industrial building beside Pathways Community Center.
The Rock Hill Industrial site at 5025 Old York Road in Rock Hill sold July 24 for almost $1.4 million. The more than 4-acre property is straight across from Hampton Ridge Road. Mark Mayfield bought the property that includes a 15,000-square-foot distribution warehouse.
Nine residential properties on Cedarvale Road and Montgomery Drive in Rock Hill sold July 11 for more than $1 million. Charlotte Investments, based in Ayrsley, bought the mobile home sites in the Newport area.
On Heckle Boulevard, 11 acres behind the BP gas station will soon turn into the Magnolia Terrace Apartments.

Thanks for the round up. I am wondering what’s going on with the Herald redevelopment site. I haven’t seen much activity on the permitting since early this year. Really want this to get built.
